The best gyms in Puerto Escondido
Whatever your poison, yoga, spin, weights, or CrossFit, there's plenty of fitness fanatics in Puerto Escondido. Despite being a pretty great place to party, believe it or not, it's also a great place to stay fit. We're running through some of the best gyms in Puerto Escondido in this post.
Su Gym and Crosstraining
We're coming in strong with my favourite Puerto Escondido gym. Sweaty, unapologetic, with kit that looks like it's been through the wars, Su Gym and Crosstraining is my favourite gym in the area. A proper, weightlifting gym with a mix of tourists and locals. Prepare to get very, very sweaty, but in a good way.
Su Gym has a huge free weights area downstairs with plenty of mat space for deadlifts, squats, skipping, and whatever other dynamic workouts you want to plan. Plus, a dumbbell area with a few pin machines, along with a more lower-body focused space upstairs that has smith machines, leg curls, and so on.
If you want to really grind, Su Gym is the spot for you.

Prices (MXN)
130 for a day pass
450 for a week
590 for a month
(These prices are correct as of April 25).
Location: Rinconada.
Paradise Gym
One for the Instagrammers, Paradise Gym is Puerto's answer to muscle beach.
A pet-friendly, eco-friendly, beachfront gym, you can train barefoot on the sand. There's also a full spectrum of movement classes on offer, like box fit, calisthenics, beach bootcamp, animal flow, and hot cold therapy too. Another great gym to meet new friends, there's also a smoothie bar for that post workout refuel and debrief.
Prices (MXN)
250 for a day pass
650 for a three-day pass
850 for a month-long pass
See the prices on their Instagram.

Location: Zicatela.
Wolf La Punta
With gyms already popping up in CDMX, it only makes sense that Wolf would open a Puerto Escondido gym as well. This gym has only opened this year, so all the kit is still fresh and in great condition.
Wolf La Punta is a huge, open air terrace with lots of Crossfit kit. They offer various classes as well as 'open gym' times. There's not much cardio kit here, but plenty of plates, dumbbells and bars. They also offer group exercise classes like:
Functional training
Calisthenics
Booty burner classes
Contrast therapy (with their on-site sauna and ice-bath)
Prices (MXN)
150 for an 'open gym' session
250 for a group workout
250 for contrast therapy
2,250 for a month-long membership
Location: La Punta.
Bonus fitness (not Puerto Escondido gyms)
Shred Fitness
Ok kind of cheating as they don't have a physical gym, but that doesn't mean you can't get your sweat on. Shred offer joint fitness classes at various hotels and hostels around Puerto Escondido. Shred was born out of Michael’s passion for fitness, healthy living, and having fun. After pumping iron for several years he discovered HIIT classes and fell in love. Now, he shares that passion with backpackers, digital nomads, and holiday makers in Puerto Escondido.
There's a reason so many long-time Puerto residents get addicted to that Shred life. As well as being a brilliant way to get your heart rate up, the classes are also a great social environment and a good chance to meet people. If you want to expand your social circle and make friends in Puerto, whilst getting fit, get into Shred.
You can join classes like:
30-minute HIIT
Switch circuits
Barre blast
Sunset beach bootcamp (this one's at Paradise gym, which we mentioned above)
Box fit
Glutes and core sculpt
Or, if you're looking for relaxation, there's also serene yoga classes like:
Vinyasa flow
Power yoga
Candelit yin yoga
As well as special events like full-moon ceremonies and sound healing

Prices (MXN)
200 for a one-off class
550 for a three-class pack
1100 for an unlimited week-long class pack
1600 for a pack of 10 classes
Location: All over Puerto Escondido.
Power Cycling Studio
One for the spinners, Power Cycling Studio is a spin studio in El Centro.
Arte y Espiritu Yoga Shala
Adding this one because it's a really cute yoga studio in Rinconada, offering great classes in a super authentic palapas building. They also offer yoga classes for kids which is pretty cool!
Cleta PXM
One for the AC lovers! Cleta is a boutique fitness studio that offers:
Spin
Functional training
Barre
Pilates
Flex classes
Are there any AC gyms in Puerto Escondido?
Of all the gyms in Puerto Escondido, none of them seem to have AC (apart from the small studios like Cleta and Power Cycling). Feel free to update us if you know something we don't...
