Coworking spaces Puerto Escondido

Puerto Escondido is a firm favourite for remote workers from all over the world. So, it's no surprise the area has caught on to this. Things in the area have changed very rapidly over the last few years, and one of those changes is the increase in coworking spaces Puerto Escondido. We're listing some of our favourites in this article.

A note on internet

A few years ago, internet was patchy and coworking spaces were rare. Nowadays, though, you've got fiber optic and Starlink to keep you going. Plus, most places have access to both just in case one goes down!

That said, one thing you can't avoid are powercuts. These are especially common in the rainy season, and they can sometimes last all day. Whilst living in Rinconada we weren't victim to these too much, but things are different down the road in La Punta. So, if you are coming to Puerto Escondido on a working holiday, think carefully about where you want to stay.

Coworking spaces in Rinconada

Pauline Coworking

We're starting off strong with (probably) one of the best coworking spaces in the whole area.

The building is a converted bowling alley with expansive high ceilings, private meeting rooms, AC, and a host of community events. The main coworking space is where the alleys themselves used to be. Picture high ceilings, big windows, and long desks with plenty of space to spread out. They've even got the old chairs and ball machines still.

Then, you also have access to smaller meeting rooms, private rooms for top-secret phone calls, and even pool tables for blowing off steam after work over a couple of Coronas. They even offer a versatile space that can be private hired, if you want to arrange a big gathering.

Pauline Coworking is one of the most comfortable, permanent, and facilitated spaces in Puerto Escondido (there's even a podcast recording studio!). If you're serious about getting work done, and not just meeting people over a coffee, this is a great spot.

Pricing:
  • Day: 150 MXN

  • Week: 750 MXN

  • Month: 1500 MXN

Casa Losodeli & Networking

Something a bit different, Casa Losodeli is a completely unique experience, geared totally towards digital nomads. A coworking space, and a hostel, with loads of social events, facilities, and the perfect location only 10 minutes away from the airport and the best beach in the area (that's Playa Carrizalillo for us!).

It's geared toward a remote worker crowd, rather than a backpacking crowd, with most people working on their laptop in the day time and enjoying some socialising at night. Stay in the hostel itself and soak up the amazing facilities and incredible hosts, or, just visit to work and meet fellow nomads.

The hostel has a garden around the pool with plenty of spaces to sit and work, an ocean-view top floor space, and now a spacious big meeting room for 8-10 people, with air conditioning and a TV for presentations. There are also small, private cabins, for video calls and meetings.

Pricing
  • Day: 225 MXN

  • Week: 945 MXN

  • Month: 2715 MXN

There are also food deals such as a chocolatin y cafe for 70 pesos or a combo verde (green juice and sandwich) for 150.

Coworking spaces in El Centro

Cowork Puerto

Cowork Puerto is a hospitality-inspired Coworking space in El Centro. There are private offices, conference rooms, hot desks and incredible views across Zicatela beach, it's the ideal setting for getting work done - as long as you can tear your eyes away from the sparkling blue water.

Depending on which desk/space you go for, there's also an optional coffee service to keep you going. Cowork Puerto Escondido has both Starlink and fiber optic internet connection, but unfortunately no pets allowed. One great thing about this place is the versatile meeting rooms of all sizes and configurations.

Pricing
  • Conference room: 245 MXN p/h

  • Private office: 4345 MXN p/m

  • Private office: 215 MXN p/h

  • Dedicated desk: 2379 MXN p/m

  • Hot desk in shared cabins: 189 MXN p/d

There are loads of options and configurations so make sure you get in touch with Cowork Puerto for the best price.

Coworking spaces in Zicatela

Zicatela doesn't have so much in the way of coworking spaces. The main focus in this area is on the waves, and the partying. That being said, there is one place you can plonk your laptop down for a couple of hours...

Selina Puerto Escondido

Selina Hostels have been on the backpacking scene for a long time across Latin America, and the Puerto Escondido branch has a dedicated coworking space, along with all the usual hostel facilities. No prices available for this one so you might have to swing past and ask.

Coworking spaces in La Punta

Hotel Nectar

Top of the list for coworking spaces in La Punta is definitely Hotel Nectar. We've written about this space a lot on this blog, cause we love it so much. It's the perfect space for soaking up that Puerto Escondido lifestyle.

It's not a conventional coworking space with proper desks and chairs, so that might be a turn off for some. Instead the whole downstairs cafe is filled with nomads and remote workers each day. Best of all, their day pass includes ultra-fast Starlink internet, as well as two beers or coffee. You also get access to the beautifu pool and rooftop jacuzzis. Not bad for 250 MXN.

They also offer weekly or monthly memberships, on request.

Coworking Cafes in Puerto Escondido

Dolce Tierra snacks for digital nomads in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca

If you don’t want to commit to a coworking space, there are also plenty of great cafes where you can stretch out and do some work.

Here are some of our top choices when we want to tablehop for a few hours.

  • Papi's Bowls, Rinconada: A great, breezy terrace on the front with plenty of space for working. The WiFi is good, there's lots of shade, and the food is amazing. It's a great place to perch yourself for a few hours, and the beach is only a short walk away when you're done for the day.

  • Dulce Tierra, Rinconada: If you're into baked goods, this is the one for you. Dulce Tierra actually have cafes in Rinconada, Zicatela, and La Punta, but the Rinconada spot probably has the best place for working. A nice roof terrace on top which is super shaded. Make sure you get a cinnamon bun to keep you going.

  • Malagua Cafe, La Punta: Always busy with remote workers, Malagua has an incredible breakfast menu, a vibrant atmosphere, and some of the best coffee in the area. Whilst it's plenty shaded, the garden is surrounded by fencing, so there's not much of a breeze here.
